(Augustin Niemoth) French's obituary --
Clara A. Niemoth-French, 94, of
Grand Island died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at St. Francis Medical
Center in
Grand Island.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday
at Messiah Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Zellmer will
officiate. Burial will be in the
Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Mrs. French was born Sept. 28, 1912,
on the family farm at Kenesaw to George and Minna (Kuehn)
Augustin.
She was preceded in death by her
husbands, Victor Niemoth on Jan. 24, 1980, and John S. French
on Nov.
15, 1998.
Survivors of her immediate family
include a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dick Niedfelt of
Grand
Island; a son and daughter-in-law,
David and Judy Niemoth of rural Hastings; two sisters, Ida Ruff
of North Platte and Cay Hanfelt of Grand Island; two brothers
and a sister-in-law, Bernhard and Fern Augustin and Ted Augustin,
all of Kenesaw.
Additional survivors include six
grandchildren and their spouses, Shelly and Steve Schroeder of
Phillips,
Rick Niedfelt of Grand Island, Jodi
and Scott Anderson of Garretson, S.D., Jason and Amy Niemoth
of rural Hastings, Jeana and George Carter of Doniphan, and Jared
Niemoth of rural Hastings; and eight great-grandchildren, Sammy
Schroeder, Jaden, Derek and Gabriel Anderson, Makenna and Carson
Niemoth, Corbin Henk, and Connell Carter.
Mrs. French was raised on the family
farm and received her education at the St. Paul's Lutheran School
in
Kenesaw.
She and Victor Niemoth were married
at the Zion Lutheran Church parsonage in Worms on April 19, 1939,
by Pastor H. William Meyer. The
couple farmed and lived on the Niemoth family farm west of Chapman.
In 1965, they moved to their home northwest of Grand Island,
where she lived until her death.
On July 31, 1993, she married John
S. French.
Mrs. French was a member of Messiah
Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting,
and making Christmas ornaments for her family.
In addition to her husbands, she
was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Laura Nienhueser,
Alma Augustin and Agnes Augustin;
and one brother, Leonhard Augustin.
Memorials are suggested to the Messiah
Lutheran Church or to the donor's choice.
