Fremont Town Farmer Dies Following Stroke
Fremont, Wis. - (Special) - John Julius Hartfield, 67, town of Fremont farmer, died suddenly of a stroke of
paralysis. He was apparently in good health and had been working with his son-in-law, William Bachmann, in the hayfield up to about an hour before his death. He was born Feb. 27, 1870 in Posen, Germany and came to America with his parents at the age of 12 years. The family settled in the town of Lind. He was married July 7, 1900 to Miss Louise Niemuth and had lived for 24 years on the farm where he died. He is survived by his wife, and four daughters, Mrs. Oscar Giebel, Hortonville; Mrs. Ervin Wendel, Mrs. William Bachmann and Miss Ruth Hartfield, all of Fremont and by two grandchildren. There also are three brothers, William, of Eland, Minn.; Henry, of Lind, and Edward Hartfield of Fremont and two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Jones, Berlin, and Mrs. Emma Glock, Weyauwega. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Hope Reformed church, town of Wolk River, the Rev. Victor Grossheusch in charge. Burial will be in the East Bloomfield Cemetery.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for John Hartfield, 67, at Hope Reformed church, town of
Wolf River. The Rev. Victor Grosseusch conducted the services and burial was in East Bloomfield cemetery.
