Resident of City for 65 Years Dies
August Kreutzer, 83, died at his home, 1127 Fifth street, Wednesday evening at 8:30 o'clock. Death was
due to the infirmities incident to old age.
Mr. Kreutzer was born in Germany, April 12, 1851. He came to America in 1869 and had lived in
Oshkosh or this vicinity since that time.
During the aldermanic form of government, which preceded the former commission form, he was foreman
of a crew of men who were engaged in city improvements.
Mr. and Mrs. Kreutzer had been married for 52 years. They celebrated their golden wedding
anniversary in 1922. She was Miss Minnie Koch before her marriage.
Survivors are his wife, six children, Mrs. Louisa Zielke, Oshkosh; Frank Kreutzer, Oshkosh; Albert
Kreutzer, who lives in Michigan; John Kreutzer, a resident of Montana; Mrs. Flora Conrad, Oshkosh; and Fred Kreutzer, of the state of Washington. Nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. One daughter died in 1918.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the home at 3:30 o'clock. The Rev. J. C. Lenge,
pastor of Peace Lutheran church will officiate. Burial will be at the Doty Street Lutheran cemetery. Friends may view the remains Friday evening and until the time of the services at the home.
