L. (Helzer) Thede Ackerman's obituary --
- Norma L. Akerman, 82, of Palmer
died Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, at Community Care of America in Palmer.
- Norma Akerman was born on Dec. 9,
1914, near Palmer, NE to Nick and Ida (Niemoth) Helzer. She
- attended Zion Lutheran School at
Worms. On August 15, 1936 she married August Thede in Columbus,
NE. Mr. Thede died on Jan. 11, 1963.
- Norma moved to Grand Island, where
she worked as a nurse's aide for 18 years at Lutheran Memorial
- Hospital. She married Harold Akerman
on May 23, 1981, at Worms. Harold Akerman died on Feb. 10, 1987.
Norma moved to the Palmer nursing home in February 1997.
- She had been an active church member
of Zion Lutheran Church in Worms and the Dorcas Ladies
- Society.
- Survivors include one son, Jim Thede
of Omaha; one daughter, Cheryl (Mrs. Dave) Tickner of Palmer;
- four grandchildren; and one sister,
Lucille Wieck of Grand Island. She was preceded in death by her
two husbands and one brother, Milton Helzer.
