-- Irene Bertha Laura (Niemoth) Hoskins' obituary --


CHADRON -- Irene Bertha Laura Hoskins, 91, of Crawford and formerly of Grand Island, died
Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at the Crestview Care Center in Chadron.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. The Rev. John Douglas Russell will
officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Memorials are
suggested to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Hoskins was born March 10, 1910, at Grand Island to Edward and Emma (Loescher) Niemoth. She
attended Hall County District 71 School. She worked for a Grand Island family as a nanny and housekeeper at the age of 17.
She married Leonard Hoskins on Dec. 10, 1929, at Central City. They lived on a farm near St. Paul, then
moved in 1934 to Henley, Mo. They returned to Nebraska in 1942. Mr. Hoskins worked at the ammunition depots until the end of World War II. They then farmed in the Clarks and Chapman areas until 1973. They moved to Grand Island and then moved to Crawford in 1986.
Mrs. Hoskins was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law,
Ronald and Bobbie Hoskins of Crawford; a daughter and son-in-law, Twyla and Sam Harrison of Goldendale, Wash.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two great-grandchildren.
