Alida (Niemoth) Nelson's obituary --
- CENTRAL CITY -- Elizabeth Alida
"Betty" Nelson, 84, of Central City died Wednesday,
Feb. 25, 1998, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central
City.
- Services will be at 2 P.M. Saturday
at Grace Lutheran Church in Central City. The Rev. Charles Pollard
- will officiate. Burial will be in
the Central City Cemetery.
- Solt Funeral Home of Central City
is in charge of arrangements.
- Memorials are suggested to the church.
- Mrs. Nelson was born on March 7,
1913, in Grand island to A.J. and Bertha (Loescher) Niemoth.
- She attended District East 7 School
in Hall County and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in
1932.
- She married Ivan Arthur Nelson on
May 1, 1935, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Grand Island. They
- lived and farmed northwest of Central
City. She worked at Merrick Manor for 10 years. Mr. Nelson died
on Aug. 14, 1987. Mrs. Nelson moved to Central City in November
1988. At the time of her death, she was living with her daughter.
- She was a member of Grace Lutheran
Church, the Ladies Church Circle and a pitch card club. She
- enjoyed gardening and baking.
- Survivors include one son, Gordon
Nelson of Central City; one daughter, Jeanette (Mrs. Jim) Williams
of
- Central City; six grandchildren;
five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Bertha Schuett of
Grand Island and Pearl Rodenbeck of DeWitt, Mich.
- Besides her husband, she was preceded
in death by two brothers, Fred and Gus; and three sisters, Laura
- Lakin, Minnie Rauert and Ella Schmaltz.
