Winefred Tucker, F. Niemuth Wed
Ceremony Performed in Joplin, Mo., June 9.
At a candlelight service, solemnized at the First Presbyterian church in Joplin, Mo., on the evening of
June 9th, at 8 o'clock, Miss Winefred Tucker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Tucker, of Hood River, Oregon, and Francis William Niemuth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Niemuth, exchanged nuptial vows. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Raymond Seymour, in a sanctuary of garden flowers and tall candelabra, holding numerous ivory tapers, which were lighted, preceding the ceremony, by Mrs. Dan Schaff, sister of the groom of Villa Park, Ill.
The bride wore her mother's wedding gown of ivory slipper satin embellished with hand embroidered
designs in a floral motif. The gown was styled with a fitted bodice, long fitted sleeves, which were extended at the shoulders, and a wide skirt, shirred to the waistline, and ending in a long graceful court train. A full length veil of illusion tulle, was held to her titian hair with an arrangement of orange blossoms. She carried an arm bouquet of white starlite roses, fastened with [a] white satin bow.
Miss Priscilla Tucker, who attended her sister as maid of honor, was attired in a gown of heaven blue
satin, fashioned on lines similar to those of the bride's dress. A headdress and arm bouquet of talisman roses, completed her costume.
William Gustafson, who attended the groom, and the groom both wore army dress uniforms.
Mrs. Niemuth, mother of the groom, who was present, chose an ensemble of blue, with which she wore
white accessories and a corsage of gardenias.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Connor hotel which was attended by approximately
50 guests, including buddies of the groom from Camp Crowder and wives of some of them.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Niemuth, of Bessemer, and Mrs. Dan Schaff, of Villa Park, Ill., parents and sister
of the groom, were among the out of town guests.
Mrs. Niemuth is a graduate of Corvalis college, Oregon, and has been employed as an instructor of home
economics, in Portland, Ore. The groom is a native of Bessemer, where he completed high school in 1939, subsequently attending Gogebic Junior college, from which he was graduated in 1941, after which he entered the armed forces. After completing signal corps training in Chicago, he completed an A.S.T.R.P. in electrical engineering at Leland Stanford, Palo Alto, Cal., subsquently completing a years training course at Corvalis college, Ore. At present he is stationed at Camp Crowder, where he is engaged in installing teletype machines for the army.
Mr. and Mrs. Niemuth will be at home at 201 Joplin Avenue, Joplin, Mo.
