People's Forum - Regrets No Honors Paid War Veteran
To the Northwestern:
An open letter to the city of Omro, of the death of Frank Niemuth. A veteran of World War I and a
member of the VFW of Omro, Frank Niemuth died Aug. 31 at Mercy Hospital.
Funeral services were on Saturday, Sept. 2, without a military funeral. The VFW organization could have
honored Mr. Niemuth with a military funeral with the colors, flag, firing squad and a bugler. Mr. Niemuth fought for the flag and the land we live in, willing to give his life it it had to be and then no military funeral and no honor for an old veteran. A veteran should be respected with honor and a military funeral which Mr. Niemuth did not get. But let's hope and pray for Mr. Niemuth that the Lord has taken him and laid him to rest in peace.

People's Forum - Veteran Apologizes For Criticism of VFW
To the Northwestern:
An open letter to the city of Omro and the VFW organization on the death of Frank Niemuth, Aug. 31, and
no military funeral. On September [1]2 I was called on the letter that I wrote by the commander of the VFW that the VFW was willing to give a military funeral with colors, flag, firing squad and a bugler, but that the family didn't want a military funeral. I promised and gave my word that I would rewrite the letter and give my apology for writing the letter. And once again I will say to the VFW that I am sorry and apologize. I hope the VFW will forgive me the wrong I did. I am sure a prayer went with Mr. Niemuth from the comrades of the VFW as it did from me. Mr. Niemuth was an old friend and a Veteran to a Veteran.
