PLEADS GUILTY TO RECKLESS DRIVING
Oliver Niemuth, 1708 Minnesota street, who pleaded not guilty Monday morning to a reckless driving
charge in connection with an accident on Oregon street the preceeding evening, appeared in a municipal court this morning and changed his plea.
After hearing statements concerning the case, Judge Goss fined him $25 and costs, and later remitted $10
of the fine to the request of the police.
It appeared Niemuth is in hard financial straits. R. C. Laus, who spoke for the man, stated he has paid
$80 to Arnold Troxell, owner of the automobile with which his machine collided.
He declared Niemuth had borrowed the money to pay for the damage to the other car. He also stated he
had visited the man's home and had ascertained his poverty-stricken condition.
According to polie, the accident occurred when Niemuth made a left turn at the Sixteenth street
intersection, colliding with the car driving by Mrs. Henry Troxell. Both the driver and Mrs. Arnold Troxell, an occupant of the macine, sustained severe bruises.
