Christ Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bloomfield
The Children's Christmas Eve service at Christ Ev. Lutheran church, West Bloomfield, will begin at 7:00
P.M. Sunday, December 24.
In the service entitled "To Shepherds as They Watched Their Flocks" the children, together with the
congregation, choir, and pastor will show how the many Messianic prophecies of the Old Testament covering a period of over 4,000 years were fulfilled in the birth of Christ, the Savior of all mankind.
The service is divided into two parts, I, The Savior in Prophecy, in which the need of a Savior and the
many promises of God are set forth, and II, The Fulfillment, in which the glorious Christmas gospel is told. Pictures cast on the screen will aid in more vividly portraying the Christmas story.

Christ Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bloomfield
Christmas is the celebration of the birth of our Lord and, therefore, is the time for the entire church family
to come together in order to hear once again the Christmas story, to bow prayerfully in adoration of the Christ Child, and to sing God's praises for His gift of love. The Christmas service to be presented on Christmas Eve, Friday, Dec. 24, at Christ Ev. Lutheran church, West Bloomfield, should be a spiritual experience for all present, adults as well as children.
The service will open with a processional, Oh, Come All Ye Faithful, by the children. There follows a short
opening service by Rev H. C. Lubeck with the choir singing "The Venite Exaultimus." (Psalm 25)

The service begins with the processional, Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful. Part I - Christmas Foregleams. We
are reminded in verse and song of all Old Testament prophesies concerning the coming of the Christ Child. Part II - Christmas Gleams. (Luke 2:1-20). Part III - Christmas Aftergleams:
"God was born on earth that night,
Through Jesus holy birth;
And thus God's glory was transferred
From heaven upon this ear. Etc."
The entire program is dedicated to the praise and honor of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Miss
Karen Wendt will assist at the piano and Mrs. Harold Lubeck at the organ. The program is under the direction of Miss Dorothea Gleschen and Glenn Wiechmann.

Christmas service "The Christ Child Comes to Christian Homes" on Christmas eve.

story, according to St. Luke, Chapter 2, will again be given by individual recitation accompanied by the various Old Testament prophecies and New Testament verifications. The following songs will be sung by the various groups:

There will be a communion service on Maundy Tuesday at 8 p.m. The Good Friday service will be at 10

Christ Ev. Lutheran, West Bloomfield
Christ Lutheran School and Sunday School of West Bloomfield will proclaim the Birth of the Savior in
their Christmas Eve Service on December 24 at 7:30 p.m. Fifth pupils of the Day school and 34 of the Sunday school will participate.
Their service, "Light a Candle for the Savior," includes individual and group recitations, during which 19
candles will be lit. Familiar hymns and songs with the congregation also taking part in some will be part of the service.
Some of the songs are: "Come Hither, Ye Children;" "Jesus Came the Heavens Adoring;" "Joy to the
World;" "Once in Royal David's City;" "In a Little Stable;" and "Hark! the Herald Angels Sing."
Special musics includes "There Were Shepherds," sung by the mixed choir, "O Holy Night," sung by
Day School Girls and the Choir, and "Silent Night," with an echo. Rev. H. C. Lubeck will officiate.
