The census records indicate that Edward was born in 1888 in New York City. Edward's parents, Patrick and Margaret were immigrants from Ireland. Patrick arrived in New York City in 1870 and Margaret arrived in 1872. They met and later married in 1882. His sisters Margurite and Sarah, were both born in New York City in 1891 and 1893, respectively. Margaret was the mother of 8 children, 5 of whom died.

Catherine’s age and birth date are consistent with the 1900 census records, however, the 1920 records indicate she was born in New York, while the 1900 records indicate she was born in Italy.

Edward’s occupation is a salesman with a Beef Company.

Catherine’s occupation is that of a dressmaker. The question here is, does she make dresses in a small shop or is she working in a factory, much as most immigrants did at the time.

Edward dies as a fairly young man.

My grandparents name their son, born in December of 1929, Edward, after his brother-in-law who has recently died., as his son has just been born.

My Aunt Katie has several children at this time (2 daughters, Eileen and Anna).
