The Guildhall
Outside the Guildhall building, at the bottom of Dean
Street, there will be a carnival welcome for audiences
arriving to the Quayside. With swinging jazz bands,
rousing brass bands and vibrant drumming, a fusion of
fanfares and fun awaits.
The Environmental Village
On Imperial Quay, at the foot of the Ouseburn Valley, a
large marquee will house a variety of environmentally
aware and eco-friendly activities for all the family.
Information stalls, a fair trade café, a host of
educational and fun events for children and a performance
stage boasting entertainment from some of the finest folk
and blues performers in the country.
Wesley Square
On the Quayside, at the bottom of Broad Chare, at Wesley
Square a large outdoor stage will play host to a wide
variety of musicians, performing folk, swing, soul,
rhythm and blues, jazz and even hip hop!
Spillers Quay
A fusion of colour and fun will burst forth onto
Spillers Quay at the eastern end of Newcastle
Quayside with street theatre, stilt-walking, juggling,
face-painting, clowning and giant birds of all shapes and
sizes! Dont miss out on this fantastic
spectacle of free family fun.
Greys Monument
The foot of Earl Grey will be home to a range of
outstanding performers presenting tunes from around the
world Bangladeshi beats, Chilean rhythms, Middle
Eastern melodies and Balkan grooves combine to make the
city centre a buzzing hub of carnival sounds.
Performance Square
The Performance Square stage, adjacent to The Sage,
Gateshead, will be filled with a fast moving mix of folk
and jazz acts, community choirs, maritime performers and
much, much more!

Newcastle Quayside
As Newcastle Quayside bids farewell to the Tall Ships as
they embark upon the last leg of the race to their final
destination in the port of Fredrikstad in Norway, there
will be a medley of choral performances - from 9am to
1pm, from Guildhall in the west to Spillers Quay in
the east.
