A poem read
at Mams funeral
You can shed
tears that I `ve gone
or you can smile
because I have lived
You can close
your eyes and pray I will come back
or you can open
your eyes and see all that I have left you
Your heart can
be empty because you can`t see me
or you can be
full of the love that we shared
You can turn
your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
or you can be
happy for tomorrow because of our yesterday
You can remember
me and only that I have gone
or you can
cherish my memory and let it live on
You can cry and
close your mind, be empty and turn your back
or you can do
what I would want you to do
Smile, open your
eyes, love and go on
A MOTHER'S
LOVE
A Mother's love
is something that no one can explain,
It is made of
deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless
and unselfish and enduring come what may
For nothing can
destroy it or take that love away .
It is patient
and forgiving when all others are forsaking,
And it never
fails or falters even though the heart is
breaking
It believes
beyond believing when the world around condemns,
And it glows
with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems
.
It is far beyond
defining, it defies all explanation,
And it still
remains a secret like the mysteries of creation .
A many
splendoured miracle man cannot understand
And another
wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand.
The road where
Mam was born and lived in during the early part
of her childhood....her father John
Lemon Liunberg owned
a printing firm there and one of the things he
did was make posters for local theatres ...this
picture was taken in 1914 the year after Mam was
born and the church in the background is where
she got married to Dad in May 1937
