In a letter written in 1977 by Marie "Gallery" Ives, she writes the following about her father as she remembered him.
My father was probably five feet eleven inches tall in his eary days. He was never heavy and had dark hair and deep set blue eyes. He always wore a mustache.
He was always interested in education and read a great deal. His chief interest was history and politics. He listened to the radio in later years.
He was director of Excelsion School in Fremont Township for many years and was township clerk for Fremont Township.
These are some impressions of my father.
