Many miss this building, as it hides away on the hill.

The Admiralty built the Almshouses in 1886

The tower is quite extraordinary

with its Italianate arrangement and detailing at its head

Delightful treatment of the lintol and quoin stones

with Gothic relieving arch and rosette inset.
