19th November 1942  Torpedoed and sunk by U-177, position 30.39S 34.41E, on voyage Bandar Abbas to Table Bay with fuel oil, about 250 miles S.E. by S. of Durban, Indian Ocean. Capt. Thorogood and 35 others were lost, there were 12 survivors
