March 3rd: 1738/9 and went out of England May 21st......

Oct 30 1740††††† ††† October 30th : 1740 got home.......

 

Clearly, from the fact that Edmond was selling off Hind, in 1741,and the fact that he was away in Europe for so long, there were fallow deer at Prideaux in 1739, before he left for the Grand Tour, and certainly before his sonís ( Humphrey ) time. The Park was formalised by Humphrey, but the Deer Park existed in Edmondís time, as a tree lined enclosure. Deer require a lot of care and attention, a proper and stable environment and a long time to fully establish. I will include some detail of this on another page.
