Burial

Mary was buried in Hobart on 19 December 1863, the funeral processing leaving her residence at Sandy Bay at 2 pm.

Death

Mary died at Sandy Bay, Hobart aged 53 years on 17 December 1863.  Her death notice in The Mercury of 19 Dec 1863 read:

At her residence, Sandy Bay, near the Beach Tavern, on Thursday, 17 inst., Mary, the beloved wife of John Sherburd, aged 53 years.  Friends are requested to attend the funeral, which will leave her late residence on Saturday next 19th inst., at two o’clock precisely.

Mary’s death was registered on 18 December 1863.  The informant was Samuel SMITH, a friend of Liverpool St, Hobart.  The cause of death was cerebral effusion.

Marriage

John SHERBURD married Mary BLACKLOW on 23 October 1826 by banns at St David's Church, Hobart.  John was a bachelor.  Mary was a spinster.  

They were married by William BEDFORD.  Witnesses to the marriage were Michael CONNOR (x mark) of Hobart Town and W WORTHY of Hobart Town.
