DeathAccording to family oral history, one day James went to work and never returned home. The story goes that he returned to England (Isle of Man?) where he had another wife! It is possible, therefore, that James died in England/Isle of Man. MarriageJames QUAYLE married Dorcas Harriet TIBBALLS on 13 December 1870 in a private house at Mansfield, Victoria. James was a bachelor and a labourer, aged 24 years. Dorcas was a spinster aged 21 years. They were married by license according to the forms of the Presbyterian Church by Robert Winston SMITH. Witnesses to the marriage were Charles BARCLAY (?) and Ann A RATCLIFF (?). |
