Death

Mary died of dropsy on 15 April 1862 at her residence at St Leonards aged 65 years.  The informant was William HILLS, undertaker.  Her death was registered two days later on 17 April 1862.  She was listed as a gentleman’s wife.

Immigration

On 28 December 1843 (or 1 January 1844) Mary, her husband John and their family, including son John and his wife Fanny, and daughter Grace, arrived in Launceston per Indian as cabin passengers.  Daughter Caroline had died on the journey.

It seems two of John and Mary’s children did not emigrate from England with the family.  John must have returned to England after he received his ticket of leave to bring out his family.
