She was cremated at Carr Villa Crematorium. Her funeral notice read:
HINGSTON. - The funeral of the late Mrs Marion B.
Hingston is appointed to leave the Memorial Chapel, 13 Cameron St. Launceston,
Tomorrow (thursday), after a service commencing at 1.45 pm. for Carr Villa
crematorium. Friends are invited to attend. Her ashes are located in the Carr Villa Colonnade Wall (A-69). The inscription reads: In
Loving Memory of DeathMarian died on 13 May 1969 aged 88 years. Her death notice in The Mercury (14 May 1969) read: HINGSTON – On May 13, 1969, at a private hospital, Launceston, Marion Blanche, dearly beloved wife of the late Hubert W H Hingston, of White Hills, loving mother of Douglas (dec), Winifred (Mrs H Lewis), Hazel (Mrs J Cowley), Muriel (Mrs Glover), Doris (Mrs Wicks), Freda (Mrs F Jackman), Athol, Herbert, and Wesley, and loving Gran of all her grand-children and great-grand-children, aged 88 years. No flowers, by request. Apparently, Marian died from choking on a mint lolly. |
