It is possible that George and his wife Maria lived till ages 96 and 87 - mention is made of Henrietta MAWER's grandparents (John Arnold MAWER's parents) and their ages in a newspaper article in The Examiner on 30 January 1933.

Marriage

A letter from the Lincolnshire City Council states that on 3 July 1804 George MAWER of Wainfleet All Saints married Maria ABRAHAM of this parish by licence at Friskney (both signed their names).  George was listed as a tanner and a bachelor aged 29 years. Maria was listed as being of Friskney, a spinster aged 18 years.

Witnesses to the wedding were John WINGATE, Mary BURDEN, Mary ABRAHAM and Mary WINGATE.  s: John WINGATE of Friskney, grazier. (Ref 409&410). 

The letter goes on to say:
Looking through the 1813-37 county marriage index for the area around Friskney, Wainfleet and Boston, I could not find a marriage listed for either of the sons of George and Maria Mawer, and note that John Arnold Mawer calls his first child Maria (?after his mother), a later child George (?after his father) and the name of Wingate is also used for a younger son in 1839. I leave you to consider whether this is the same person …
