Death

Sarah died on 26 March 1823 in Hobart, Tasmania.  She was free and aged 85 years.  Sarah’s death notice in the Hobart Town Gazette of 29 March 1823 (p2 c1) read:

DIED – On Thursday morning last, after a short illness, Mrs Presnell, mother of Mr William Presnell of Argyle Street, leaving a numerous family both in this Colony and in England to lament her loss.  The deceased arrived only a few months ago from England, in apparently good health, and lived to see the 86^th year of her age.

Immigration

Sarah and some of her large family arrived in Hobart per Regalia on 30 December 1822.  Sarah was aged 85 years at the time of her immigration.  Other members of her family were already residing in Tasmania - sons William and John PRESNELL.  Sons James and Thomas PRESNELL may have immigrated with their mother.
