BurialMary Ann’s burial service was held on 27 September 1918. Mary Ann was buried at Carr Villa Monumental Cemetery in the Anglican section. The funeral directors were Albert Finney. Mary Ann is buried with Allan DAVIES, 14 weeks old who was buried on 17 March 1925; and also Baby WILSON (stillborn), buried on 4 April 1957. There is no gravestone, only a dirt mound. The applicant for Mary Ann FISHER and Baby WILSON was Miss R DAVIES (most likely Rachel Hannah DAVIS, Mary Ann's unmarried daughter). The applicant for Allan DAVIES was Miss P DAVIES, possibly the same person or the grand daughter of Mary Ann FISHER. Allan Davies was Mary Ann's grandson and Baby WILSON was her great grandson. Mary Ann’s youngest son, Clarence William, had a daughter who married James WILSON – three of their children are mentioned in Clarence’s death notice: Roslyn, Marlene and Michael WILSON. Baby WILSON is probably a sibling. Allan DAVIES is the youngest son of Clarence William DAVIES. MarriageJoseph DAVIES married Mary Ann FISHER at the Baptist Chapel, Deloraine on 17 February 1873. Joseph was a labourer and bachelor aged 43 years. Mary Ann was a farmer's daughter and spinster aged 19 years. They were married by Charles CATER and the witnesses were husband and wife Isaac James GREENSLADE and Harriet GREENSLADE (Mary Ann's half-sister). |
