Caroline was born on 15 July 1861 in the district of Oatlands to William Thomas PRESNELL and Emily HILL.  The informant was her father.  Her birth was registered on 21 August 1861.

Burial

Caroline was buried on 29 November 1941 at St Luke's Anglican Church cemetery, Campbell Town by A S DREWETT.  Her funeral notice in The Mercury of 28 November 1941 read:

JENKINS – The funeral of the late Mrs Caroline Jenkins will leave her late residence, Church St, Campbell Town, on Sunday, November 30, at 2pm, for interment in St Luke’s Churchyard, Campbell Town.

Caroline was buried with her husband.  The tombstone inscription reads:

died 17th October 1939
in his 89th year

beloved wife of above
died 27th November 1941
in her 82nd year

Caroline died on 27 November 1941 at Campbell Town in her 82nd year.  Her death notice in The Mercury of 28 Nov 1941 read:

JENKINS – On November 27, 1941, at her residence, Church St, Campbell Town, Caroline, Beloved wife of the late James Frederick Jenkins, aged 82 years.

Marriage

James Frederick JENKINS married Caroline PRESNELL on 20 June 1883 in the residence of Mr PRESNELL (Caroline's father) at Mount Seymour in the district of Oatlands.  

They were married by Lachlan CAMPBELL according to the rites and ceremonies of the Presbyterian Church by license.  Witnesses were Thomas PRESNELL (Caroline's brother or father) and Esther PRESNELL (Caroline's sister).  James was a bachelor aged 27 years.  Caroline was a spinster aged 22 years.

The marriage notice in The Mercury of 26 Jun 1883 read:

JENKINS-PRESNELL – On June 20, 1883, at the bride’s residence, Mount Seymour, by the Rev. L.L. Campbell, James Frederick, second son of William Jenkins, of Surrey, England, to Caroline, second daughter of Thomas Presnell, of Mount Seymour.
