Her death notice in The Mercury of 28 Nov 1941 read: JENKINS – On November 27, 1941, at her residence, Church St, Campbell Town, Caroline, Beloved wife of the late James Frederick Jenkins, aged 82 years. MarriageJames Frederick JENKINS married Caroline PRESNELL on 20 June 1883 in the residence of Mr PRESNELL (Caroline's father) at Mount Seymour in the district of Oatlands. They were married by Lachlan CAMPBELL according to the rites and ceremonies of the Presbyterian Church by license. Witnesses were Thomas PRESNELL (Caroline's brother or father) and Esther PRESNELL (Caroline's sister). James was a bachelor aged 27 years. Caroline was a spinster aged 22 years. The marriage notice in The Mercury of 26 Jun 1883 read: JENKINS-PRESNELL – On June 20, 1883, at the bride’s residence, Mount Seymour, by the Rev. L.L. Campbell, James Frederick, second son of William Jenkins, of Surrey, England, to Caroline, second daughter of Thomas Presnell, of Mount Seymour. |
