BurialElizabeth was buried on 23 September 1919 at Carr Villa Monumental Cemetery (B2 204 1/2 registration no. 4114). The funeral director was Albert FINNEY. Elizabeth's funeral notice in The Examiner of 23 September 1919 read: The funeral of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Crew will leave her late residence, 75 Galvin-street, this day (Tuesday), 23rd September, at 2 o'clock, for interment in the Carr Villa Cemetery. Friends are invited to attend. Elizabeth's tombstone inscription reads: In Loving Memory of
ChildrenWilliam and Elizabeth had five children. For the eldest, there is a record of birth for Frederick William CREW born on 20 May 1851. And there is a record of death for a William Cane CREW died on 25 March 1853 aged 22 months, making his birth date May 1851. Thus, I have assumed that these are the same child. It is possible that the clerk wrote down the father's name instead of the child's name on the death record. DeathElizabeth died of senility on 20 September 1919 at 75 Galvin St, Launceston. She was a pensioner at the time, widowed, with 1 living son, 2 deceased sons and 2 living daughters. Her death was registered on 24 September 1919 by Armitage & Finney, Undertakers of Launceston. The medical attendant was Dr P D SMITH (RGD 1058/1919). Elizabeth's death notice in The Examiner of 23 September 1919 read: CREW. - On the 21st September, at her late residence, 75 Galvin-street, Elizabeth, widow of the late William Cane Crew, in her 90th year. MarriageWilliam Cain CREW married Elizabeth ELY on 18 June 1850 in the district of Launceston. Elizabeth was a spinster aged 19 years. William was aged 30 years.
