Vienna: Mrs. James Carter visited her daughter here one day last week.
Thomas, Sallie and Forest Everitt of Indianapolis attended the funeral of their father here Friday.
William R. (Rose) Everitt, a well known farmer of the Vienna neighborhood, died Wednesday night at Cragmont hospital, North Madison, where he had been taken for treatment several months ago. Mr. Everitt was a member of a prominent family and had been a resident of Scott county all his life. He leaves a widow and several children and also two brothers, Eugene and Charles Everitt. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the family home near Vienna, followed by interment in the Everitt cemetery.

Robert Hougland, wife and daughter Frances are spending a few days at Columbus visiting her sister Mrs. Emmett Everitt.

Nabb: There are now three radios in our small town as Messrs. Gray, Johnson and Everitt each have had one installed in their home.
Ray No. 6: Max, son of Fred Everitt, has pneumonia, and the two youngest children are also real sick. Amos and Floyd Richey have each purchased a team of mules from Chas. Mount, near Zion.

A daughter was born Sunday to Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Carter.
The Columbus Packing Company, that built a $100,000 packing plant there last year and operated it for packing tomatoes, has announced that it will build a $50,000 unit to the plant for the packing of sweet corn. Work on the new unit will be started in the early spring.
Ray No. 6: The four children of Fred Everitt, who have been sick, are improving.
Miss Lizzie Worthington, of Glasgow, Ky., visited here with her aunt, Mrs. Josephine Lawson, one night last week while on her way home from a visit with relatives at Litchfield, Ills.

Mrs. Pearl Everett Kennedy, wife of Emanuel Kennedy, of Louisville, Ky., died May 9 at a hospital in that city. Aged 30 years. She is survived by the husband and four sisters. She was a daughter of John Ed Everett, who died here several years ago.

Floyd Everitt, 30, of Scottsburg, and Miss Bertha Buzzard, 22, of Austin, were married at Jeffersonville last week by Justice Alonzo Paddacks.

Thieves recently broke into the smokehouse at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Richey, west of Vienna, and carried away about 200 pounds of hams and side meat.
Boy Scouts on Outing
Scout Master Clement Studebaker and the following boy scouts:...Morris Carter,...went to Hanover beach on the Ohio river, Monday, for a five day outing.

Milton Murphy and son, Elbert, of near Oxford, Ind., motored here Friday night and returned home Sunday, accompanied by Mrs. Murphy and daughter, who had been visiting here for several days.
Ernest Everitt is in the government military training camp at Indianapolis.
Mrs. Jones is very poorly with liver trouble at the home of Herman Everitt and wife.
Mrs. Herman Everitt and Mrs. Hilton Jones went to Louisville, Sunday, to visit Mr. and Mrs. Eberts.
Vienna: Mrs. W. R. Everitt and sons visited relatives at Indianapolis last week.
James (Red) Carter is somewhat of a rook player. But he is the hardest loser in the county.
Mrs. Milton Murphy and daughter, Miss Harriet, of near Oxford, Ind., visited here last week.

Mrs. Agnes Everitt, who was one of the republican ladies who attended the Republican love feast at West Baden recently, has received a letter of thanks from Senator Watson's private secretary thanking her on the senator's behalf and especially for the work for the party she accomplished last year. Mrs. Everitt was accompanied by Mrs. Ed. M. Ray, Mrs. Howard Atcheson, Mrs. Daisy McCaslin.

Nabb (Intended for last week): Ernest Everitt of this place, who has been in training at Indianapolis, merited a trip to Michigan City, and with 75 boys, have gone for a weeks visit on a battle ship.

The Republicans of Scottsburg met in mass convention at the court house on Wednesday night of last week...For trustee of the First District John A. Ritter, Mark Smith and Fred L. Everitt were placed in nomination. Smith declined...A vote by ballot resulted: Ritter, 29; Everitt, 61; Wes Hartley, 1; George A. Mount, 1; blank, 1. Everitt was declared the nominee...After a few short remarks by Candidates Everitt and Martin and by Chairman Ray, the convention adjourned.

Town Election Results in Election of Two Democratic Trustees and Clerk-Treasurer
Strict Party Lines Disregarded
November 3 was an ideal day for an election - pleasant and sunshiny - calculated to put everybody in a good humor, and a desire to exercise the right of franchise.
The interest was intense, but good humored, each side trying to get out the vote, not so much the party vote, as the individual, Republicans going to the polls in Democratic conveyances, and Democrats in Republican cars.
The Republican candidates were Fred L. Everitt and William E. Gray for trustees...A total of 825 ballots were cast, of which 72 were absent voters' ballots. The result was:
