Use Box Cars To Ship Stock.
Local shippers of live stock had much trouble last week in securing
cars for their weekly shipments. Will Napper ships on Monday but
had not received a car up to Thursday, which is T. H. Everitt's shipping
day. On Thursday Mr. Everitt got into communication with division
officials of the Pennsylvania who informed him that it would be impossible
to get him a car. When Mr. Everitt informed them that they could,
the officials declared they would if he would only show them how.
Mr. Everitt informed them that there were two empty box cars on the
siding here which he could fix up for use as stock cars. It was finally
agreed that if Mr. Everitt would fix up the cars at his own expense he
could use them. This he did and got his shipment into the Indianapolis
market on Friday.
Mr. Everitt very generously turned one of the cars over to Mr. Napper
for use in getting his delayed shipment to market.
