Poplar Creek.surveyed |
| 10 Jan 1825 John Tabor
sold to John Haskins 50 acres on the Brushy Fork
of Poplar Creek. John Tabor sold
his 50 acre grant No. 10193 to John Hoskins.( John Hoskins did not register this
land in his name until January, 1833 and he was
ordered by the Register of Deeds to do so. Before
Peter Johnson died, he Willed to his daughter,
Elizabeth Kesterson grant No. 10193 for 50 acres.
All thru my research all of his family only knew
that this tract of land as the John Tabor tract
and it belonged to Peter Johnson. [source: James
Kesterman]) |
| John [O] Tabor purchased 100
acres of land at Marlow in Anderson County. This
100 acres he sold to his sister-in-law, Elizabeth
Kesterson. She paid him in tow cloth just before
he left Tennessee going West @ 1842-46. Also John
Tabor got a land grant for 50 acres Grant Number
10193 January 10,1825 that joined the 100
acres. This 50 acres was given to his
father-in-law,Peter Johnson and his father-in-
law and mother-in-law lived on this land until
they died.Peter willed his 50 acre grant to his
daughter, Elizabeth at his death.I have the land
grant, the sale ot the land grant to John Hoskins
and Peter's will leaving this land grant to his
daughter. It is the same grant because the
wording is exactly the same in all 3 documents.I
don't know how this happened. [source: James
