They Sailed on William Penn's ship the "Submission" out of Liverpool & Bristol,England.

It arrived on at Choptank on the Choptank River,about half way up river and close to

 Kent County,Delaware,on the Maryland Eastern Shore in November 1682.

James and Jane Clayton with their six children are on the Ship's log list from Middewich,

in the County of Cheshire.

Many or most of the passengers of  "The Submission"  disembarked at Choptank and

traveled overland to Appoquinimick,New Castle,Delaware and then some went on

to Bucks County,Pennsylvania on the west side of the Delaware River above

Philadephia,Pennsylvania.

Acquired land in Kent County in 1695.

In 1693 was assessed six pense on his 100 acres at Muther Creek for his apprenticeship.

John listed as a Grand Juror from 1693 until 1705 when the records end.

 

He bought land with his younger brother Joshua"Sheoemaker's Hall" that was formerly

the property of Isaac Webb on Walker Branch of Dover River.

John than took his new brother-law-law,William Willson/Wilson,Jr. for an apprentice for five years

for his first wife Mary had died.  Her name was Mary to.

Samuel Barker received a land grant of 200 arces from the PENNS. The Barkers were of the old, prominent families of Delaware.
