Deaths - Kirk On Saturday, 19 October, 1946, suddenly at Essex County Hospital, Sybil May Kirk, dearly loved mother of Lavinia and Violet 134, Collingwood Road, Lexden, Colchester.

Well-Known Lexden Resident - Funeral of Mrs. Sybil Kirk The death of Mrs. Sybil Kirk, a well known and popular resident of Lexden, who resided at 134, Collingwood Road, took place at the Essex County Hospital last week after an illness patiently borne. Aged fifty-five years, Mrs. Kirk was predeceased by her husband, Mr. Alexander Kirk, and their only son Henry, died during the war whilst a prisoner in Italian hands.

A funeral service, preceding interment at Colchester Cemetery, was conducted by the Rev. S.L. Dolph, at Lexden Church on October 24th. The principal mourners were Lavena and Violet (daughters), Dick (son-in-law), Grace and Albert (sister and brother-in-law), Pansy and Ernie (sister and brother-in-law), Lottie and Arnold (sister and brother-in-law); Frank (nephew), and Mesdames Pears, Pacey, Nattrass, Noy, Dines, and Turner (friends).

Floral tributes were from the mother; Vena, Violet, and Dick; Grace and Albert; Mrs. Jones and Doreen; John; Phyllis and Mervyn; Mrs. Haywood; Edna and Frank; Mr. And Mrs. Turner; Pansy and Ernie; Lottie and family; neighbours; Brother Fred; Mrs. Harris and Molly; Aunt Ada; Henry and Laura; Mrs. Bachelor; Aunt Lottie and Burney; Molly and Gorden; Margaret; and Mrs. Sexton and Mervyn.
