She married Luther Hayward on 31 March 1839 in North Bridgewater (now Brockton), Plymouth County, Massachusetts.3

She died on 24 July 1842 at age 22.4 She was buried in North End or Ashland Cemetery, North Bridgewater (now Brockton), Plymouth County, Massachusetts.4

     Apollos Howard was born on 23 August 1784.2

He married Olive Cary, daughter of Daniel Cary and Mehetabel Brett, on 8 April 1802 in the Fourth Church of Christ in Bridgewater, now the First Congregational Church, Brockton, Plymouth County, Massachusetts . (Intention not recorded.) She was his first wife.1

He married Emily, daughter of Oliver Howard, as his second wife, and had four children. She died, and he then married Bethiah, daughter of Jonathan Porter, of North Bridgewater. They had six children.2

He died on 5 March 1849 at age 64.2

     Blanch Howard was born in October 1879 in Kansas . The first known relative of mine to be born in Kansas.2 She was the daughter of George E. Howard and Phoebe W. Playter.1 The census of 1880 shows Blanch Howard in the household of George E. Howard and Phoebe W. Howard, at Girard, Crawford County, Kansas.1

The census of 1895 shows Geo. E. Howard, 48, born Mass, occupation: real estate & teach [? illeg.], and Blanch Howard, 16, born Kansas, attending school. Also in the household were Sarah Moore, 20, born Kansas, a housekeeper; Geo. Playter, 23, born Kansas, a coal operator; Clarence Playter, 17, born Kansas, a clerk and bookkeeper; and C. J. Hurt, 23, born Missouri, a motorman living at Pittsburg, Crawford County, Kansas.3

The census of 1900 shows Blanch Howard in the household of Blanch Howard, at Pettis Township, Platte County, Missouri.2


The census of 1905 shows G. E. Howard, 58, a renter, not on a farm, born Massachusetts, a real estate dealer. He was listed as having served in D Co., 42nd Inf., and had been honorably discharged from the military. Living with him was Blanch Howard, 24, born in Kansas, a teacher living at Pittsburg.4
