She was the daughter of Marcellus Houghton and Catherine Charlotte Fogg.1 The census of 1860 shows Catherine A. Houghton, 4, at school, in the household of Marcellus Houghton and Catherine C. Houghton, at Harvard P.O., Bolton, Worcester County, Massachusetts.2

She married Warren Herbert Fairbank, son of Andrew Fairbanks and Anne Augusta Houghton, on 14 September 1876 . They were second cousins. Catherine was a resident of Concord.1 The census of 1880 shows Kittie A. Fairbank in the household of Andrew Fairbanks and Ann A. Fairbank, at Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts.3

The census of 1900 shows Warren H. Fairbank, 23, a farmer, and Katherine A. Fairbank, 23, mother of 3, of whom 2 were still living, listed with Alice A. Fairbank and Mildred E. Fairbank living at Harvard. Also living there were Helen C. Farnsworth, 23, a boarder and school teacher; and Frank Flynn, 25, a servant, farm laborer from Ireland.4

     Daniel Gunn Houghton was born on 23 November 1817 in Waterford, Oxford County, Maine. He was the son of Abel Houghton and Lydia Green.

He married Susan Jane Jacobs on 7 December 1845 in Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, Daniel was a teamster at the time of his marriage, and a resident of Lowell.1,2

The census of 1850 shows Daniel Gunn Houghton, age 32, a farmer; with Amelia Morse, age 58, living at Waterford.3

The census of 1860 shows Daniel G. Houghton, age 42, a farmer with $200 personal estate, and Susan J. Houghton, age 34, listed with Charles J. Houghton, Frank R. Houghton and George W. Houghton living at Sidney, Kennebec County, Maine.4

As of April 1869, Daniel lived at North Sidney, Kennebec County, Maine.5

The census of 1870 shows Daniel Gunn Houghton, age 42, with $2000 real estate and $750 personal estate, living with Daniel Jacobs, 82, living at Sidney.6

He died on 21 January 1877 in Sidney, at age 59.7 He was buried in Field Cemetery #1, Sidney, Kennebec County, Maine.7
