     Israel Hobart was born on 29 June 1642 in Hingham, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Rev. Peter Hobart and Elizabeth Ibrook.1

Israel Hobart was a shipwright.2

He married Sarah Wetherill on 30 December 1668 . In addition to listed children, they had Abigail, twin sister of Nathan, born 1678 and dead by 1683; and Israel, born 1682 in Scituate, who died soon after.3 On 20 April 1676, Israel Hobart moved to Scituate, Plymouth County, Massachusetts after his home in Hingham was burned by the Indians.4

He died on 14 April 1731 in Scituate, at age 88.1
