     Benjamin Hinckley was born on 8 June 1744 in Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Joshua Hinckley and Lydia Snow. He was baptized on 10 June 1744 in Harwich.1

He married Dinah Sweat on 23 November 1769 in Wellfleet, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.1 He served in the Revolutionary War as a 1st Lieutenant in the Truro Company of the Barnstable County Militia.1

He died on 24 May 1824 at age 79.1 He was buried in the North Truro Cemetery.1
