Seth Hinckley was born on 16 April 1683 in Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Samuel Hinckley and Sarah Pope.

He died in 1711. As of , Seth's heirs were his brothers Job, Shubael, Josiah and Elnathan; sisters Mary Bangs, Mehitable Hinckley and Mercy Crosby; and the children of another brother Thomas Hinckley, deceased.² Letters of administration were granted to Samuel Hinckley of Harwich, on the estate of his brother Seth Hinckley, late of Seth Hinckley.²

He married Sarah Berry on 2 February 1755 in Harwich.¹

He died on 21 April 1797 in Hardwick, Barnstable County, Massachusetts, at age 66.² His will, dated ¹ was proved.¹

He married Lydia Bangs on 17 April 1712 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.¹

He married Mary Snow on 7 October 1718 in Harwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.¹ He and Mary, his wife, were admitted to the Truro Church 18 February 1727/28.² + he was named to church committees 03 Jul 1754 and 11 Nov 1757.²
     Shubael Hinckley may have married Elizabeth Whitford.²

     Shubael Hinckley died after 23 November 1766 probably in Truro, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.¹

Sophia Hinckley was born on 22 September 1785 in Milton, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, or Westford, Middlesex County.^2,3,4 She was the daughter of Ebenezer Hinckley and Anna Morton.

She married John Day Howard Jr., son of John Day Howard and Lucy Clark, on 3 October 1807 in Westford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.

Mormon Church records (Endowment and Sealing) indicate they had a son, Alexander Cotton Howard, born 08 OCT 1819 in Boston, who died 1 FEB 1841. These records are often very dubious, and I find no other evidence to support his existence. The census of 1850 shows Sophia Howard, 64, in the household of William H. Howard and Harriet M. Howard, at Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.⁵

She died on 6 April 1851 at age 65.³
The death record of Samuel Howard on 1 September 1876 lists the mother as Sophia Howard
