     Mary Arnold was born in Hebron, Oxford County, Maine.

She married Alpheus Hale, son of Israel Hale and Esther Taylor, on 13 October 1823 in Waterford, Oxford County, Maine, They were married by Dan Perry, Justice of the Peace of Hebron.

     

She married John Royse, son of John Royse and Sarah Perigo, on 21 March 1715.¹

     

He married Elizabeth Gray, daughter of Edward Gray and Mary Winslow.¹

     Ann E. Arthur was born in 1829 or 1830 in Vermont.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. William Arthur and Malvina Stone.¹ The census of 1860 shows Ann E. Arthur, 30, in the household of Wm. Arthur and Malvina Arthur, at Watervliet, Albany County, New York.¹

     





Chester Alan Arthur was born on 5 October 1829 in Fairfield, Franklin County, Vermont. He was the son of Rev. William Arthur and Malvina Stone.

He married Ellen "Nell" Lewis Herndon on 25 October 1859 in Calvary Episcopal Church, New York, New York County, New York.

He died on 18 November 1886 in New York, New York County, New York, at age 57 of a massive cerebral hemorrhage.¹ He and Ellen "Nell" Lewis Herndon were buried in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menards, Albany County, New York.

     Chester Alan Arthur Jr. was born in 1864. He was the son of Chester Alan Arthur and Ellen "Nell" Lewis Herndon. He was graduated in 1885 from Princeton University and went on to Columbia Law School, but rather than follow in his father's footsteps, he chose instead to become a gentleman of leisure. President Arthur on his deathbed warned his son not to go into politics. Alan Arthur traveled extensively, maintained a fine stable of horses, and relied on polo for exercise.

He married Myra Townsend in 1900/1. He and Myra Townsend were divorced in 1927. Chester Alan Arthur Jr. moved to Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado.

He married Rowena Graves in 1934.

He died in 1937.

     Ellen "Nell" Herndon Arthur was born in 1871. She was the daughter of Chester Alan Arthur and Ellen "Nell" Lewis Herndon.

She married Charles Pinkerton and lived in New York, New York County, New York.

She died in 1915.

     Mary Arthur was born in 1840 or 1841.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. William Arthur and Malvina Stone.¹ The census of 1860 shows Mary Arthur, 19, in the household of Wm. Arthur and Malvina Arthur, at Watervliet, Albany County, New York.¹

     Rev. William Arthur was born on 5 December 1796 in 'The Draen', Ballymena vicinity, co. Antrim, Ireland.¹

He married Malvina Stone, daughter of Rev. George Washington Stone and Judith Stevens, on 12 April 1821 in Dunham, Missisquoi County, Quebec, Canada.¹

The census of 1860 shows Wm. Arthur, 62, a Baptist clergyman with $6000 real estate and $1000 personal estate, and Malvina Arthur, 58, listed with Ann E. Arthur and Mary Arthur living at Watervliet, Albany County, New York. Also living there were Nancy Wilson, 20; and Marion Fidel, 17.²

He died on 27 October 1875 in Newtonville, Albany County, New York, at age 78.¹

     William Lewis Herndon Arthur was born in 1860. He was the son of Chester Alan Arthur and Ellen "Nell" Lewis Herndon.

He died in 1863 of a brain disease.

     Anthony Ashby was born say 1634.¹

He married Abigail Hutchinson, daughter of Richard Hutchinson and Alice Bosworth.¹

     Barbara Ashton was born on 26 May 1913.

She married Stewart DeCamp Hayward, son of Daniel DeCamp Hayward and Grace Agnes Merritt, on 12 June 1934 in La Grange, Cook County, Illinois.

     Sarah E. Ashton was born about 1878.

She married John Oland York, son of Amasa Kenyon York and Sara Lindora Dunton, on 26 July 1898 in Adams, Berkshire County, Massachusetts.¹
