Was ordained at Boxford 16 Nov 1774, as pastor of the church there, in which position he remained till his death.2
He married Elizabeth Emery on 28 December 1775 in Newbury, Newtown, now West Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts, by his father.2
He took deed from Job Tyler of Boxford of about 32 acres land in Boxford 3 Jan 1777 (135: 115).
Also of John Barker, 3d, of Andover, yeoman, of about 2½ acres near above. Date not given (140: 95).2
He died on 25 May 1786 in Boxford, Essex County, Massachusetts, at age 36 . By his will, dated 29 Apr 1786, proved 6 June 1786, he gave all his estate to his brother Nathaniel Hale and his brother-in-law Nathaniel Emery, as trustees of his children and their guardians, "to bring them up to age of majority," and made them executors (58: 187). Inventory, £618, 9, 8 (59: 42). Stephen Hale, Sarah Hale and Mary Hale gave release to the executors above 25 Feb 1807 (75: 12).3

He served two months as a volunteer in the Revolutionary war, July to Sept 1777, at Bennington and Saratoga, being then 17 years old.3
He married Sibyl Adams , daughter of Oliver Adams of Chelmsford on 21 March 1782.3

Moses Hale was born on 4 September 1779 in Winchendon, Worcester County, Massachusetts.2 He was the son of Moses Hale and Ruth Foster.1
He married Mary Flint on 1 January 1807.2 In 1819, Moses Hale moved to New York, after losing most of his property in Winchendon, and taught in that city until 1842, when, his wife and six of his children being dead, he went to Columbus, Miss., where he lived with his only remaining child Harrison Hale.3
He died on 13 October 1843 in Columbus, Lowades County, Mississippi, at age 64.4
