     Daniel Hale was born on 30 September 1755 in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts.2 He was the son of Moses Hale Jr. and Abigail Huse.1

When the news reached Newbury of probable fighting before Boston, Daniel Hale, then not 19 years of age, marched with other young men from Newbury to the scene of action, but did not arrive in season to take part in the battle of Bunker Hill. He then enlisted in the army, served 13 months and was discharged at White Plains, N. Y. whence he walked back to Newbury. He received for his arrears of pay $100 in Continental currency, and paid it all out for a yearling bull valued at $10.3

He married Elizabeth Dow on 17 July 1776 in Newbury.4

He married Elizabeth Fellows.5

He died on 25 March 1848 in Bradford, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, at age 92 . He was a farmer.4

     Daniel Hale was born on 30 April 1751 in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts.2 He was the son of Lieut. Daniel Hale and Edna Pickard.1

He married Elizabeth ---(?)---.3

On 24 Mar 1788, he (described as Daniel Hale, Jr., of Newbury, yeoman), bought of Samuel Northend of Newbury three pieces of land in Rowley, 25 acres with dwelling hereon on corner of the road to Byfield meeting-house (147 :136).4

He married Elizabeth Rollins.3

He died on 31 January 1827 in Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts, at age 75 . His will, dated 3 Aug 1820, proved 6 March, 1827, describes him as "of Rowley, yeoman, provides for wife Elizabeth, and children Francis Pickard, Daniel, Joseph R. and Edna, the latter unmarried at execution of will. The inventory filed showed personal estate valued at $1,423, and real estate at $10,191. The other three children gave receipt to Francis Pickard, executor, 23 June, 1828, Edna signing with her husband, Isaac Pickard.

He seems to have had a homestead in Byfield Parish, and another in the first parish of Rowley. He willed the former to Daniel, the latter to Francis P., and a West Newbury farm to Joseph R.3
