     Caroline Hale was born on 12 June 1814 in Rochester, Strafford County, New Hampshire.¹ She was the daughter of Moses Hale and Elizabeth DeMerritt of Durham, N. H.¹

She married Louis Turner.¹

     Caroline Alice Hale was born on 16 August 1826.¹ She was the daughter of Benjamin Hale and Mary Caroline King.¹

She died on 9 February 1837 at age 10.¹

     Caroline Augusta Hale was born on 26 June 1818 in Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of Artemas Hale and Deborah Lincoln.¹

She died on 31 January 1841 at age 22.¹

     Casper Adelbert Hale was born on 11 December 1880 in Saint Charles, Bear Lake County, Idaho.¹ He was the son of Aroet Lucius Hale and Eliza Ann Lee.¹

He died on 10 March 1909 in Afton, Lincoln County, Wyoming, at age 28, where he was buried 16 Mar.¹

     Catharine Wiggin Hale was born on 29 May 1816 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of Eliphalet Hale and Abigail Waters.¹

She died on 13 September 1817 at age 1.¹

     Chandler Hale was a a Republican.¹
Chandler lived at Ellsworth, Hancock County, Maine.¹ He was born on 2 March 1873 in Washington, D.C.. He was the son of Eugene Hale and Mary Douglas Chandler. The census of June 1880 shows Chandler Hale in the household of Eugene Hale and May C. Hale, at Ellsworth.² In 1892, Chandler Hale was assistant secretary of the American delegation to the International Bimetallic Conference in Brussells, Belgium.¹ In 1897, Chandler Hale was secretary of American Embassy, Rome, Italy.¹

He married Rachel S. Cameron on 28 September 1897. Between 1901 and 1905, Chandler Hale was secretary of American Legation and Embassy, Vienna, Austria.¹ In 1907, Chandler Hale was secretary of the American delegation to the second peace conference in The Hague, Netherlands.¹

From 1909 to 1913, Chandler Hale was third assistant U. S. Secretary of State.¹

The census of 1910 shows Chandler Hale, a clerk with the Dept. of State, and Rachel C. Hale, listed with Chandler Hale Jr., Donald C. Hale, Mary C. Hale and Eugene H. Hale living at Washington, D.C.. Also in the household were two servants, Louise Aouse, 29, from Germany, and Nellie Lee, 30, from Ireland.³

He died in May 1951 at age 78.

     Chandler Hale Jr. was born in 1898 or 1899 in Maine.² He was the son of Chandler Hale and Rachel S. Cameron.¹ He appeared on the census of 1910 in the household of his parents, Chandler Hale and Rachel C. Hale, at Washington, D.C..² The census of 1910 shows Chandler Hale, 41, in the household of Rachael Hale, at Washington, D.C..³

     Charles Hale was born on 7 February 1788 in Waterford, York County, Maine. He was the son of Israel Hale and Esther Taylor.

He married Sally Ricker between 1806 and 1811.

[ It would appear that the informant may have underestimated the ages of Sarah and Asenath. ], and Sally Ricker, listed with Elbridge Gerry Hale, George Washington Hale, John Rupell Hale, Lovesta L. Hale, Susan Hale, Sarah J. Hale and Nancy Pierce Hale living at Waterford.³ On 2 February 1850, Charles Hale sold real estate in lot 86 in the 3rd division, Sweden. Charles conveyed this land, which was occupied by hime, to George W. Hale.⁴ [CR][CR]Charles and Sally Hale appeared on the census of 1850 at Waterford, with the following listing:

, living at Waterford.⁶ 23 August 1860, a quitclaim was filed on land the north half of lot no. 37 in the 3rd division, Sweden, Oxford County, Maine. This was the land that George W. Hale had sold to Sally Hale in 1852. As she had died in 1858, all adult descendants signed a quitclaim to transfer ownership of the so-called "Bradstreet Lot" to Charles Hale. These descendants were Elbridge G. Hale an his wife Lucy H. Hale of Cambridge, MA; William Langley and his wife Asineth, of Somerset, MA; Horace A. Sawyer and his wife Sarah. of Lynn, MA; Lovista L. Young, a single woman; George W. Hale and his wife Clara A., of Waterford; John R. Hale and wife Eleanor; George Kneeland and wife Susan, of Lincoln, ME; and William Langley II and wife Anna, of New York City.

Charles sold this land for months later on 15 Dec 1860 to John B. Sanderson, yeoman, of Waterford.⁷

He died on 22 May 1863 at age 75.⁸ He was buried in Elm Vale Cemetery, Waterford, Oxford County, Maine.⁸

     Said to be "of Sweden, Oxford County, Maine."¹ Charles Hale was born on 2 May 1813 in Waterford, Oxford County, Maine. He was the son of Charles Hale and Sally Ricker. The census of 1820 shows Charles Hale in the household of Charles Hale and Sally Ricker, at Waterford.²

He died on 27 August 1823 in Waterford, at age 10 He died of a fever.

     Charles Hale was born in 1851 or 1852 in Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Elbridge Gerry Hale and Lucy H. Bursley.¹ The census of 1870 shows Charles Hale, 18, a laborer, in the household of Elbridge G. Hale and Lucy Hale, at Barnstable, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.¹

     Charles Hale was born on 11 September 1798 in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Amos Hale and Elizabeth Plumer.¹

He married Cornelia Tappan Genet.¹

     Charles Hale was born on 21 May 1817 in Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Pemberton Hale and Susannah Jewett , daughter of Deacon George and Sarah Jewett.¹

He married Sarah Merrill, as his first wife.¹

He married Ann Bodwell as his second wife.¹

     Charles Hale was born on 30 October 1788 in Rindge, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.¹ He was the son of Joshua Hale and Sarah Cutler.¹
