     James Green was born on 23 October 1815 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.2 He was the son of Colonel James Green and Judith Colby.1

He married Mary C. Hadley, daughter of Israel Hadley and Sally Woodbury, about 1835.3

The census of 1850 shows James Green, James was a farmer with $1,000 real estate. Also in the household was a pauper, John Benson 87, a farmer from Massachusetts, and Mary Green, listed with Judith Green, Sarah Green, Tholopus Green and Mary E. Green living at Bow.4

He married Harriett Walker about 1856.2

The census of 1880 shows James Green, 64, a farmer, and Harriett Green, wife, 57, keeping house, listed with Flanders Green and Martha J. Walker living at Bow.5

He died on 20 June 1886 at age 70.2 He was buried in Green Cemetery on Londonderry Branch Turnpike East, Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.2
