She married John S. Colby, son of Capt. Sargent Colby and Ruth Ann Colby, on 25 September 1864 in Foxborough, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, by Isaac Smith, a Foxboro clergyman.1
Sarah and John lived at Prescott, Pierce County, Wisconsin.2

The census of 1870 shows John Colby, 35, a farmer with $3000 real estate and $540 personal estate, and Sarah S. Colby, 35, keeping house, listed with Jennie Colby and Herbert H. Colby living at Prescott P.O., Clifton, Pierce County, Wisconsin.3

The census of 1880 shows John S. Colby, 47, a farmer, and Sarah S. Colby, 46, keeping house, listed with Jennie L. Colby, Herbert H. Colby and Mabel Colby living at Clifton, Pierce County, Wisconsin.4

The census of 1920 shows Charles N. Hargraves, the town's postal clerk, and Mable J. Hargraves, listed with Julian T. Hargraves living at 88 Union Ave, Framingham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.2

She died in 1970.

The census of 1850 shows Alvah Colby, Alvah was a farmer with $1,000 real estate. His son Henry was a blacksmith, and Lucinda Colby, listed with Henry Colby, Eliza Colby, Mary S. Colby, Emily A. Colby, Abigail Colby, Alfred Colby and Laura J. Colby living at Hooksett.1

She died on 6 January 1877 in Hooksett, at age 67.2
