     Silence Goddard was born on 18 November 1752 daughter of Elisha and Anna (Haven) Goddard of Sutton.²

She married Jonathan Hale Esq., son of Jonathan Hale and Susannah Tuttle "Jr.," of Ipswich, as his first wife.¹

She died on 15 January 1800 in Framingham, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 47.³

     Simon Goddard was born on 18 February 1702 in Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Edward Goddard and Susanna Stone.¹

     Susanna Goddard was born on 25 February 1700 in Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.¹ She was the daughter of Edward Goddard and Susanna Stone.¹

     William Goddard was born on 22 March 1709 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.¹ He was the son of Edward Goddard and Susanna Stone.¹

He died about May 1709 at two months.¹

     Elizabeth Godfrey was the daughter of Francis Godfrey and Elizabeth ---(?)---.¹

She married John Cary in June 1644.

He was one of the first to emigrate from Duxbury to Bridgewater ; his house was a quarter of a mile east of the meeting-house in West Bridgewater. He was the first town clerk of the town of Bridgewater.²

In 1643 at Duxbury,, Francis Godfrey was listed as able to bear arms in New Plymouth.⁵ Francis Godfrey moved to Marshfield, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.²²

He died in 1669 in Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.¹

     Edwin Lawrence Godkin was born the son of James and Sarah (Lawrence) Godkin.¹ He was educated at Sillcoates School, England, and at Queen's College, Belfast, Ireland, and was admitted to the English bar. He was war correspondent for the London Daily News during the Crimean War. He came to America in the autumn of 1856 as correspondent for the Daily News to write a series of articles upon social and political conditions in the Southern States. He studied in New York in the office of David Dudley Field and became a member of the New York bar. After the establishment of the "Nation," of which he became editor in 1865, he ceased to practice law and devoted himself to newspaper and literary work. He became editor and one of the proprietors of the New York Evening Post in 1881. He wrote a "History of Hungary" as a young man, and two volumes of his articles have been published in book form entitled "Problems of Democracy" and "Unforeseen Tendencies of Democracy."²

He married Frances Elizabeth Foote, daughter of Samuel Edmund Foote and Elizabeth Betts Elliott, on 27 July 1859 in Moyne, Ireland.¹

He died on 21 May 1902 in Greenway House, Brixham, Devon, England.¹

     Elizabeth Elliott Godkin was born on 3 May 1865.¹ She was the daughter of Edwin Lawrence Godkin and Frances Elizabeth Foote.¹

She died on 30 May 1873 at age 8.¹

     Lawrence Godkin was born on 31 May 1860.¹ He was the son of Edwin Lawrence Godkin and Frances Elizabeth Foote.¹
Lawrence lived at New York, New York County, New York, He prepared for college at Dr. Morris's Mohegan Lake School and at the Cambridge High School.² He was graduated in 1881 from Harvard College.¹ He was graduated in 1883 from Columbia Law School . He was a member of the New York bar. He had charge of the weekly "Summary" of news in the "Nation" for a time, and wrote articles for various periodicals on legal topics. He published in collaboration with Dr. A. McL. Hamilton "A System of Legal Medicine"; was appointed in 1903 by the Governor on a commission to investigate the "law's delay" in New York and suggest remedial legislation.³

     Ralph Godkin was born on 10 July 1868.¹ He was the son of Edwin Lawrence Godkin and Frances Elizabeth Foote.¹

He died on 12 September 1868.¹

     

She married Owen Edward Warren, son of William Warren and Maud Owen, on 22 October. She was born on 29 December 1895 in New York, New York County, New York.

She died on 22 February 1951 in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan, at age 55. She was buried in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Oakland County, Michigan.
