Rodney James Conant was born on 28 February 1894 in DeKalb, St. Lawrence County, New York. He was the son of Grosvenor Conant and Ada Streeter. He was educated at Richville, St. Lawrence County, New York.1
He married Hazel Ginn on 1 September 1914 in Canton Methodist Church, Canton, St. Lawrence County, New York, as her first husband.2
The census of 1930 shows Rodney Conant, 36, a farmer, and Hazel G. Conant, wife, 33, a farmer, listed with Clarence G. Conant, Avery W. Conant, Lloyd E. Conant, Harold G. Conant and Audrey E. Conant living at Canton, St. Lawrence County, New York. Also living there was a Canadian farm laborer, Alfred Leech, 34.3 He and Hazel Ginn were divorced in 1937.2
He married Eileen Exelby about 1938. In 1943 or 1944, Rodney James Conant moved to R. D. 3, Ogdensburg, St. Lawrence County, New York.1
As of 1965, Rodney and Eileen lived at Heuvelton, St. Lawrence County, New York.4
In 1968, Rodney James Conant was a dairy farmer and cattle dealer at R. D. 3, Ogdensburg.1
He died on 18 June 1968 in A. Barton Hepburn Hospital, Watertown, Jefferson County, New York, at age 74, after six weeks in the hospital. He had been in failing health for seven years.1 He was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Richville, St. Lawrence County, New York.1
