     Lloyd E. "Joe" Conant was born on 8 August 1922 in Canton, St. Lawrence County, New York.1 He was the son of Rodney James Conant and Hazel Ginn. The census of 1930 shows Lloyd E. Conant, son, 7, attending school, in the household of Rodney Conant and Hazel G. Conant, at Canton.2

He attended Canton schools and served in the Army during World War II.1

He married Jean N. Graves on 24 May 1946 in Potsdam Methodist Church, Potsdam, St. Lawrence County, New York, . The couple lived in Canton after they were married.1
As of between 1959 and 1992, Lloyd lived at Canton.3,4,5,6

Lloyd E. "Joe" Conant was a truck driver for Pacific Transportation, Buffalo, and a bus driver for Canton Central School for several years, retiring in the mid-1980s. Later in life, he was a substitute bus driver.

He was a member of Teamsters Local 687, a member of the Canton Club and an avid bowler.1

He died on 27 December 1995 in Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, St. Lawrence County, New York, at age 73, where he had been a patient since Dec. 17.1 He was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Watertown, Jefferson County, New York.1
