She married Lieut. Benjamin Moss on 28 March 1728 in Wallingford, New Haven County, Connecticut.¹

She died on 11 February 1794 in Cheshire, New Haven County, Connecticut, at age 91.¹

     Eunice Cowles was born on 28 April 1708 in Meriden, New Haven County, Connecticut.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Cowles and Abigail Royce.¹

She married Moses Curtis on 9 November 1731, as her first husband.¹

She married Jedediah Norton of Farmington, Conn. on 3 November 1737, as her second husband.¹

     Hannah Cowles was born on 11 April 1706 in Meriden, New Haven County, Connecticut.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Cowles and Abigail Royce.¹

She married Nathaniel Penfield of Branford, Conn. on 4 May 1731 in Wallingford, New Haven County, Connecticut.¹

     Joseph Cowles was born on 18 June 1677 in Farmington, Hartford County, Connecticut, son of Samuel Cowles.¹

Joseph Cowles was a weaver by trade, one of the leading citizens of the town, and a deacon of the church.¹

He married Abigail Royce, daughter of Dea Samuel Royce and Hannah Churchill, on 13 July 1699 in Wallingford, New Haven County, Connecticut, as his first wife. His father-in-law gave him a farm just south of Archer's corner in South Farms district, and in the year 1701, 107 acres up the hill on the old highway.^1,2

He married on 1 April 1715 in Wallingford, Anna (Peck) Yale, daughter of John Peck of Wallingford and widow of Nathaniel Yale who died 20 Dec 1711; she was born Mar 1686, and died 26 Feb 1716. They had Benjamin, born 23 Feb 1716, died 15 Mar 1716.¹

He married on 29 May 1717 in Wallingford, Mindwell, who died April 17, 1770, aged 89, widow of Ephraim Whaples. They had Ebenezer, born 26 Feb 1718.¹

He died on 30 November 1760 in Meriden, New Haven County, Connecticut, at age 83.¹ He was buried in Old Meeting House Hill Cemetery, Meriden, New Haven County, Connecticut, . Upon a monument in the Cemetery are the following inscriptions: 'Erected by the Town of Meriden, 1857, in memory of the first settlers of the Town of Meriden, 1857, in memory of the first settlers of the Town of Meriden who were buried within and near the enclosure, and whose names are inscribed on this monument. The Meeting House in which they worshipped, and the first erected in the Town, stood about fifty rods west of this monument.' Among others the following names appear: Joseph Cowles, Nov. 30, 1760, aged 83; Mindwell Cowles, April 17, aged 89.¹

     Anna R. Cox was born in 1860 in Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.¹

She married Lauren F. Colby, son of George Hazen Colby and Georgiana York, on 25 October 1882 in Malden, by Sylvester F. Jones, Minister of the Gospel.²

     Avis Cox was born on 28 September 1902.¹

She married Alvah Sterling Colby, son of Almond Sterling Colby and Susan Tilton Hoyt, on 15 May 1942.²
