Hartford.1 The census of 1870 shows Martin Colby, 16, at school, in the household of S. W. Colby and Elizabeth Colby, at Wayland, Allegan County, Michigan.4

He married Olive B. Wilson on 31 December 1874 in Medina, Medina County, Ohio.2 The census of 1900 shows Martin L. Colby, a boarder and a farmer, 43, who would later marry the widow Edessa, in the household of Abel B. Parker and Edessa M. Parker, at Chester, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.5

He married Maximilia Edessa Cate, daughter of Nathan Cate and Maxamilla Colby, in 1909 in New Hampshire.6

The census of 1910 shows Martin L. Colby, a house carpenter, and Edessa M. Colby living at Chester Street, Chester, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.7

The census of 1920 shows Martin L. Colby, a house carpenter, living alone, living at Chester.8

He died on 7 March 1937 in Raymond, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, at age 83.6

     Mary Colby was born on 18 January 1780 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.2 She was the daughter of Thomas Colby and Susanna Colby.1 She appeared on the census of 1 May 1791 in the household of her parents, Thomas Colby and Susanna Colby, at Bow, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.3 She appeared on the census of 1800 in the household of her parents, Thomas Colby and Susanna Colby, at Bow.4

She married David Woodbury, son of Ebenezer Woodbury and Hannah Colby, on 7 June 1810 in Dunbarton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, . They were 1st cousins.5

The census of 1850 shows David Woodbury, 65 farmer with no real estate, and Mary Woodbury, 70, listed with Aaron Woodbury, Mary Woodbury and Sylvanus Woodbury living at Woodstock, Grafton County, New Hampshire. The census lists the family of David Sr. adjacent to that of his son, David Jr.6

She died on 19 July 1854 in Woodstock, at age 74.7 She and David Charles Woodbury were buried in town cemetery, Woodstock, Grafton County, New Hampshire.7
