     George Warren Alexander was born on 9 May 1829 in Derry, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.2,3 He was the son of Philip C. Alexander and Mary Ann Taylor.1 The census of 1850 shows George W. Alexander, 21, working in a cotton mill, in the household of Philip C. Alexander and Mary A. Alexander, at Holyoke, Hampden County, Massachusetts.4

In 1851, George Warren Alexander was a manufacturer.3

He married Harriet N. Appleton on 10 September 1851 in Holyoke, by Rev. Asahir Chapin.3

The census of 1860 shows George W. Alexander, 30, a wadding manufacturer with $200 personal estate, and Harriet Alexander, 26, listed with Edgar Alexander and Lilly Alexander living at Spruce Ward, Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania.5

On 20 April 1861 George Warren Alexander enlisted as a Captain, Commissioned in Company G, 1st Infantry Regiment Pennsylvania.6

On 15 September 1862 George Warren Alexander enlisted as a private in Company Criswell's, Indpt Infantry Regiment Pennsylvania.6

On 1 October 1862 George Warren Alexander was mustered out.6

On 13 December 1862 at Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania County, Virginia,, George Warren Alexander was wounded.6

On 18 September 1863 George Warren Alexander received a disability discharge.6

The census of 1870 shows Geo. W. Alexander, 40, manufacturing cotton laps, with $300 personal estate, and Harriet Alexander, 37, listed with Adjar Alexander, Lillie Alexander and Nettie Alexander living at Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania.7

The census of 1880 shows Geo. W. Alexander, 50, working in a hat factory, and Hattie Appleton, 49, housewife, with fever and ague, listed with Lily Alexander and Nettie Alexander living at West Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania.8
As of from 1888 to 1890, George lived at 6 W. Penn Ave., Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania, He was owner of George W. Alexander & Co.9

The census of 15 June 1900 shows George W. Alexander, 70, a hat manufacturer, listed with Edgar Alexander and Lillie Alexander living at Spring, Berks County, Pennsylvania. They also had a servant, Annie Hottenstein, 37.10

He died on 5 May 1903 in Reading, at age 73.11

     Jane Alexander was a member of at Hooksett Congregational Church, Hooksett, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.1 She was born in 1901 in Elkton, Cecil County, Maryland, daughter of John Alexander and Annie Taylor.1

She married Willis Frank Woodbury, son of Frank A. Woodbury and Emma F. Jones, on 19 May 1934 in Concord, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.2 As the oldest resident of Bow, she had been the keeper the Boston Post Cane since 1997. She was a 83-year member of the Hooksett Grange No. 148; a member of the Hooksettites and the Bow senior citizens' "Young at Heart" Club; and a volunteer for the Fresh Air children's program in the 1940s and 1950s.1

She died on 8 September 2001 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.1 She was buried on 10 September 2001 in Head Cemetery, Hooksett, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. The Rev. William Donoghue of Brookside Congregational Church officiated.1

She married Jonathan Colby, son of Abraham Colby and Elizabeth Blaisdell, about 1784 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.2,1 She appeared on the census of 1 May 1791 in the household of her in-laws, Abraham Colby and Elizabeth Blaisdell, at Bow, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.3

She died on 28 October 1844 at age 83.1 She was buried in East Dunbarton Cemetery, Dunbarton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.1
