     Lewis Colby was born on 10 October 1821 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.1 He was the son of Reuben Colby Esq. and Lucinda Colby. The census of 1850 shows Lewis Colby, a farmer, in the household of Ruben Colby and Lucinda Colby, at Bow.2

He married Mary E. Davis on 23 June 1853 in Bow.3

He married Mary E. Mills on 19 December 1867 in Bow.4

He died on 14 June 1911 in Canterbury, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, at age 89.3

     Lewis R. Colby was born on 30 August 1841 in Goffstown, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.2 He was the son of Thomas B. Colby and Mary B. Kelley.1 The census of 1850 shows Lewis R. Colby, 11, at school, in the household of Thomas Colby and Mary Colby, at Goffstown.3
He served in the Civil War in the 112th Illinois Regiment.1 He was buried on 27 January 1864 in Danville National Cemetery (Section D Site 68), Danville, Pittsylvania County, Virginia.4

He died on 27 January 1864 in Libbey Prison, Richmond, Richmond County, Virginia, at age 22 after being taken prisoner.1,4
