     Aaron Colby was born on 15 April 1792 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.2 He was the son of James Colby and Susannah Stewart.1 September 1814, Aaron Colby enlisted for the defense of Portsmouth, and was in service about three months.3

He married Edith Rowell on 25 December 1817 in Bow.4 They purchased the farm where John Benson lived in 1889. They lived there until 1838, when they sold to Bartholomew Stevens.3 In 1838, Aaron and Edith purchased the farm formerly owned by Richard Potter at Andover, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.3

The census of 1850 shows Aaron Colby, Aaron was a farmer with $3,000 real estate. His son Sylvanius was a depot manager, and Edith Colby, listed with Sylvanius Colby living at Andover.5 In 1867, Aaron and Edith sold their Andover home and bought the Hoag farm in Bow.3 He died on 18 January 1877 in Bow, at age 84 of gangrene.3 He and Edith Rowell were buried in Evans (North) Cemetery on White Rock Hill Rd, by Turee Pond, Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.6

He married Sarah F. White, daughter of George White and Sarah Colby, on 19 May 1857 in Bow.3

The census of 1880 shows Aaron Colby, Aaron was a farmer. His son Fred was a teamster, and Sarah F. White, listed with Fred A. Colby living at Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.4

He died on 7 October 1891 in Manchester, at age 53.2

He married Paulina A. Smith on 2 May 1853 in Maine.1

The census of 1880 shows Luther Colby, Luther and his son Frank were farmers, and Pauline A. Colby, listed with Frank L. Colby, Evie M. Colby, Lizzia A. Colby, Flossie H. Colby, Carrie V. Colby and Harvey Colby living at Hancock, Hancock County, Maine.3
